Registrars Vote Down WHOIS TF Recommendations

ICANN's Registrar Constituency has voted to trash the recommendations of the WHOIS Task Force. Only seventeen registrars voted in favor of a resolution repudiating the work product of the Task Force that took over a year to be produced -- but that was sufficient. The Registrars Constituency has 62 members; four abstained, and the others didn't bother to vote. This is out of a population of hundreds of accredited registrars (complete list is here).
